A day I will never ever forget. Anna and Brett got ready together at home, a place they have renovated all themselves, with coffee and their two cats. They jumped into bed for a few last cuddles before looking through old scrapbooks of their love story together, a story years and years in the making. They walked and talked with 6 of their closest loved ones while carrying chairs to their ceremony space at their favorite local park. We explored the park in Brett’s convertible (that he is also restoring himself) and found the perfect place for these newlyweds to read their vows. They sat in excited stillness together, holding onto each other as they shared, and ended this sweet ceremony with an even sweeter cake cutting – a strawberry cream cake (my fav!) that they baked together.
The most perfect day. Intentional, joyful, and altogether lovely. A reminder that your wedding day can look however you want it to. Cut down the guest list. Ditch the expensive venue. Get ready together. Bake your own cake.
Or don’t. Throw an enormous party and don’t do a first look. Book the church, go dress shopping and have an after party – your wedding day is whatever you want it to be!
