Autumn Estate Wedding

Madeleine and Brendan’s wedding day.

You can’t recreate wedding days like this one, and you can’t plan them either. Days like this naturally unfold and come together. They’re full of moments that are unscripted, and they linger in the ‘in between’. Like Madeleine waiting in a room upstairs by herself, watching her guests wander into the ceremony space, and cracking the window so she could hear her string quartet play. The groomsmen gathering to take a selfie and hang outside of the mansion while there was some down time. Or the forgotten drinks on the lawn during cocktail hour while guests tell each other (and me) stories of the bride and groom.

I sometimes struggle to describe weddings, because the feeling of being there has so much more depth than I could put together in words – but then again, that’s probably why I’m in the picture business. These images will always be favorites of mine.

Madeleine and Brendan, thank you for the privilege of being a part of your day, it’s one we’ll never forget!
